Zambezi River House / Felix Brinkhege
Briefly

The Zambezi River House incorporates both ecological responsibility and aesthetic beauty by utilizing local materials and innovative design to harmoniously blend with its surroundings.
By implementing a unique fish farming system that features irrigated terraces and an artificial swamp, the project seeks to mitigate overfishing in the Zambezi River.
Situated on a diverse landscape, the house provides breathtaking views of the Victoria Falls while serving as a vital link in preserving local biodiversity.
The design takes inspiration from the curving terraces of the surrounding fish farms, using a dry stone wall for wildlife protection and seamlessly integrating the structure into the ecosystem.
