The International Energy Agency states that nearly 200 countries have pledged to triple global renewable energy capacity by 2030, with significant investment and infrastructure needed.
As Fatih Birol, IEA's executive director, points out, ‘To ensure the world doesn't miss this huge opportunity, the focus must shift rapidly to implementation.’
Countries are expected to transition from fossil fuels to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, necessitating vast renewable energy development.
To meet these ambitious climate goals, around 25 million kilometers of electricity grids need to be built or updated by 2030, with further infrastructure planning for 2040.
