The Starliner Liftoff Is a Big Win for NASA
Briefly

The landing was on solid ground in Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan, but braking rockets at the bottom of the Soyuz should have cushioned the impact before it hit the ground. However, ice covering the soil created a harsh landing experience for astronaut Butch Wilmore.
Boeing's new Starliner spacecraft, with inflatable airbags labeled as 'marshmallows' by Wilmore and Williams, aims to make the descent smoother by reducing the impact from 21 to 27 feet per second to about nine to 15 feet per second.
