Rapamycin may slow aging. Here's one way the drug will be tested

At low doses, rapamycin seems to help tamp down inflammation by inhibiting the mTOR signaling pathway, a key regulator of lifespan and aging.
Physicians prescribe rapamycin off-label for anti-aging purposes, with anecdotes of benefits from about 300 patients. However, research is necessary to understand its actual risks and benefits.
