"Tiny, tiny amounts can still affect the way our blood is circulating, the way oxygen is carried to the brain," said Dr. Elena Givental, highlighting the risks of lead contamination in drinking water.
"Eventually when the pipes are old, when they are aging, corrosion happens and it starts leaking into the water," explained Dr. Givental on how lead contaminates drinking water in schools.
"Children need to stay hydrated throughout the day," said Andria Ventura with Clean Water Advocates, emphasizing the need for safe drinking water for students.
