NASA spots details of US Army base lost under Greenland ice
Briefly

NASA's Earth Observatory spotted an anomaly in Greenland's ice sheet, providing a new look at Camp Century, a secret military base built in the 1960s.
The PM-2A nuclear reactor powered the hidden 'city under the ice,' which housed numerous facilities including a gym, theater, and library, serving 200 soldiers.
Originally established for scientific research, Camp Century's real purpose was to create a structure for launching Minuteman nuclear missiles under the Arctic ice.
Using UAVSAR technology, NASA produced detailed maps of Camp Century, revealing insights not previously obtainable through ground-penetrating radar.
