The study found that AfD voters experienced a "downward spiral" of happiness, meaning their emotional state worsened with their political alignment, creating a feedback loop.
"The novelty of our study is in understanding how the emotional state of voters influences their political affiliations, particularly among right-wing populists like AfD."
