Labour in apparent disarray over Thames cleanup plan
Briefly

The announcement of plans to prioritize the River Thames for cleanup has been overshadowed by the approval of a scheme allowing Thames Water to pump treated sewage into the same area.
Marlene Lawrence from the Teddington Bluetits highlighted a conflict, stating that while Khan’s plans are welcomed, they seem incompatible with the sewage pumping operations proposed by Thames Water.
Environmental concerns have been raised regarding the increased temperatures and salinity from treated sewage, which could threaten fish and biodiversity in the Thames.
Munira Wilson remarked on the irony that, while Teddington is prioritized for cleanup due to pollution, a project that exacerbates pollution is simultaneously approved.
