Is the Turin Shroud a genuine relic or just an elaborate fake?
Briefly

Researchers from Italy's Institute of Crystallography have reopened the 600-year-old debate on the Turin Shroud, using Wide-Angle X-ray scattering to suggest it dates back to Jesus' life.
This piece of linen, measuring 4.3 metres long and 1.1 metres wide, bears faint images that some believe to be the likeness of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion.
First appearing in historical records in 1354, the shroud faced immediate skepticism, with local clergy asserting it was a fake created by an artist.
Despite skepticism in its early days, by the 1400s the shroud's authenticity was largely accepted, making it a significant object of Christian veneration.
