National Security Minister Michael Weeks emphasized the severity of Ernesto's impact, stating that the storm 'seriously threatens our community' and is 'not a storm to be taken lightly.'
The storm previously affected the northeastern Caribbean, where it led to widespread power outages, showcasing its capacity to cause significant disruptions.
Electric utility BELCO reported nearly island-wide outages, impacting about 26,100 of roughly 36,000 customers as Hurricane Ernesto passed through Bermuda.
