Synnott beamed back, sent his letter to the IAU, and at length got a response, which included a list of mythological names he could choose for the moon.
He settled on Thebe, a nymph of the Greek god Zeus and the Roman god Jupiter, and with that, the solar system got just a tiny bit bigger.
