Flappy Bird's original creator says he has nothing to do with the new game

Dong Nguyen, the original developer of Flappy Bird, clarified via X that he has no involvement with the new version of the game and stated, 'I didn’t sell anything.'

The Flappy Bird Foundation aims to capitalize on nostalgia while promoting the game, stating, 'In 2024, Flappy Bird will fly again,' despite Nguyen's absence.

The game's revival is mired in trademark disputes, with Nguyen's original trademark being ruled abandoned by the USPTO in January, after Gametech's opposition.

Hidden elements of the game suggest a potential crypto integration, with indications that it will operate on Solana and includes components for players to 'build, create, play and stake to own.'
