NASA's Clipper mission aims to explore Europa, one of Jupiter's moons, as a potential habitat for life, despite extreme cold and radiation conditions.
'Clipper is going to be the first in-depth mission that will allow us to characterize habitability on what could be the most common type of inhabited world in our universe,' said Gina DiBraccio.
The launch broke the speed record for the second stage of the Falcon Heavy, reaching approximately 40,000 km/h, showcasing the technological advancements in space exploration.
Europa's surface features a 20-kilometer-thick layer of ice, with deep cracks suggesting geothermal activity, potentially supporting a subsurface ocean that could harbor life.
