Americans are more familiar with and concerned about climate change and global warming compared to newer terms like climate crisis, climate emergency, or climate justice, according to a recent survey of 5,137 Americans.
The familiar terms climate change and global warming proved to be as effective as or even better than climate crisis and climate emergency in eliciting concern, perceived urgency, and willingness to act. Climate justice tended to perform worse due to its unfamiliarity.
