Teoscar Hernández has a reputation for being a powerful slugger with issues getting consistently on base and a suspect glove.
Evidently, the on-base percentage is a tad low for the Yankees' needs, but the slugging percentage is very, very nice.
Since 2018, he has hit 22 home runs or more in each full season, peaking at 32 in 2021. He even hit 16 round-trippers in the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign. His .225 career isolated power (ISO) is rock solid, and he accumulated 57 extra-base hits in 2023.
