I'm told the Rangers will recall someone else later today. They like Othmann and believe he showed flashes. They want to allow him to continue to develop in Hartford for now but they're happy he got a taste of the NHL because they believe he will be better for it.
Given the roster in Hartford, the smart money is on Adam Edstrom getting another look. Edstrom looked good in his recall as well, and perhaps fits the 4C role better than others on the roster. Kakko's return is nearing, and that will be a welcomed return when it happens.
