Soliciting trade-deadline ideas for the Mets
Briefly

The best thing about this is that many people have graduated past the idea of, "hey let's package three things we don't want for another team's star!" A trade proposal, even a fake one, has to make sense for both teams.
Part of the issue for the Mets is deciding how much prospect capital they're willing to include in trades. Is Brett Baty available in the right deal? None of us know. But it's likely that Baty's value is less now than what it was in the offseason.
My opinion is that the biggest need for the Mets is starting pitching, one that's even more pressing now with the injury suffered by Christian Scott.
Gus has stated multiple times that the Mets should target Crochet, who has been one of the best pitchers in baseball this season. Unfortunately, he's already thrown over 50 innings more than he has in any previous season as a professional.
