Mets hang on to win another nail biter against the White Sox
Briefly

In the second game against the White Sox, the Mets won 6-4, overcoming typical flaws such as hitting with men in scoring position. The game featured multiple home runs early, including blasts from Vargas, Alonso, and Young. A bizarre baserunning mistake by Juan Soto added a strange twist to the inning. Despite the usual RISP issues, highlighted by a late single from Lindor, Tylor Megill had a solid start but faltered in the sixth. However, new acquisition Jose Castillo ended up securing the win by escaping a critical jam.
Despite some of the same recurrent annoyances we've grown accustomed to from the 2025 team, the Mets bet the White Sox 6-4 in the second game of this three game set.
All those runs actually came without a hit with men in scoring position, which is about in line with what you expect from the Mets at this point.
The evening began explosively, with three combined homers in the first. Miguel Vargas had the first blast, putting the White Sox up 2-0.
With one out and Brandon Nimmo on first, Juan Soto hit a laser out to right-center that Michael A. Taylor trapped.
