The Mets have designated reliever Carl Edwards Jr. for assignment and confirmed that center fielder Luis Robert Jr. has been placed on the injured list with a lumbar disc herniation. In response, righty Austin Warren and corner infielder Eric Wagaman have been called up from Triple-A Syracuse. Edwards, who signed a minor league deal in December, had a strong start to the season, allowing only one run in six innings and striking out 44% of batters faced, though he also issued four walks.
