Citi Field was mostly full - not only because it was fireworks night. Oh, and the Mets were a .500 team, having gone 15-4 since June 3, most recently including a two-game sweep of the struggling Yankees.
When baseball boss David Stearns was asked before Friday night's game against the Astros whether he could see a scenario in which the Mets could be buyers at the trade deadline, he said, simply, 'Sure.'
The Astros also entered the night with a .500 record after having won seven games in a row and started 15-7 in June, second-best in the majors to the Mets.
Players wore T-shirts to advertise the song, complete with a QR code to access it. On Thursday, many danced to it at a promotional event at Citi Field.
