Trump said Knicks owner James Dolan invited him to the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks, riding an 11-game postseason winning streak after sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals, are scheduled to host Game 3 on June 8 and Game 4 on June 10. Trump said he initially planned to attend Game 5 of the conference finals at MSG before New York finished the series in four games. He praised the Knicks as a “great” team with “really great players” and called their return to the finals since 1999 “great to see.” He also noted the franchise’s long struggles and said he has attended major sporting events during his political career.
