What Giants would have offered Rams in Matthew Stafford trade talks
Briefly

Matthew Stafford was close to being traded to the Giants, but the rumored trade negotiations revealed that the team was not willing to surrender their No. 3 pick. Instead, a second-round pick was expected to change hands, with the Rams possibly also shipping with Stafford a third-round selection. Stafford's decision to stay with the Rams involved a restructuring of his contract, making a substantial financial difference. This choice leaves the Giants searching for quarterback options in a challenging free agent market with limited quality choices available.
I know it from all angles, not just from my relationship with [Rams coach Sean] McVay, but also my relationship with Stafford.
What I think the trade compensation would have been, Giants give up their second round pick which is the 34th pick, and the Rams give back a third round and Stafford.
Stafford would then need to tear up the contract and have a massive contract which would have been paying him close to $15 million more per year than what essentially he is going to play for with the Rams.
