Briefly

Daniel Jones, formerly with the New York Giants, is looking forward to a new chapter with the Indianapolis Colts where he will compete for the starting quarterback position against Anthony Richardson. Following a tough stretch with the Giants that saw him benched, Jones is keen to demonstrate his abilities while respecting the competition from Richardson. He believes that competition fosters improvement and is excited to contribute to the team's success after observing the NFL from different perspectives in recent months.
"That's been the communication," Jones said after meeting with the Colts staff, including coach Shane Steichen. "... I think the competition aspect of it brings out the best in everybody."
Jones, the New York Giants' sixth overall pick in 2019, was benched by the team midway through last season. He then asked for and received his release from the team on Nov. 22."
In Minnesota, Jones spent most of his time on the practice squad, which gave him a great vantage point for watching Sam Darnold resurrect his career with the Vikings."
"I'm looking forward to that [competing with Richardson]... and I think we're both interested in helping this team win games."
