Hundreds of kids attended Cam Skattebo’s football camp at Hampton Stadium in Mineola despite rainy weather. Kids wore white Skattebo shirts, participated in drills, and took pictures with the Giants running back. Fans in the stands wore his No. 44 jersey, and a child mimicked his touchdown celebration. Skattebo told campers the event was one of his favorite moments in the NFL and said he does not get that kind of stage at the college level. He shared an update on his ankle surgery recovery, saying he was about 2-3 weeks from fully feeling himself and expected to be ready by training camp. He also answered kids’ questions about his favorite NFL experience and described wanting to provide the camp experience he had as a child.
"“I never thought I'd run camps but seeing this, parents and kids, come out to support me, this is probably my favorite moment being in the NFL,” Skattebo told the campers. “Because you don't get this stage at the college level."
