Decomposing skeletal remains of a woman's torso were discovered inside a garbage bag in brush near 149th Ave. and Brookville Blvd., on the edge of Idlewild Park in Rosedale near JFK Airport. Sanitation workers found the bag while clearing discarded trash and placed it into their truck's hopper, then noticed a foul odor. Police were summoned and confirmed the skeletal torso inside the bag. The city Medical Examiner's Office will perform a forensic autopsy to try to identify the woman and determine how she died. Investigators will examine the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
