Wig found in task force raid on Brooklyn man's home may help link him to 2 murders
"I discovered that there was an overlapping investigation conducted by the NYPD,"
"Well, the person we were attempting to locate was a suspect in two homicides."
"Good morning bro. We got Weston. I see a wig in the apartment. We're going to hold the location. We need a search warrant."
A 37-year-old Brooklyn ex-con pleaded guilty Tuesday to a federal gun charge and may be connected to two Crown Heights homicides from September and October 2024. U.S. marshals executed a pre-dawn raid at the suspect's St. Johns Place apartment on Jan. 15 after learning the man violated supervised release from a 2021 gun case. Deputy Marshal David Roman learned of an overlapping NYPD investigation and that the person targeted was a suspect in two homicides. The Sept. 1 and Oct. 23 shootings occurred on the same block where the suspect lives. Detectives at the raid observed a wig on a table and sought a search warrant; the wig photograph appears orange while the wig used in the killings was described as pink-and-black.
