There goes the sun. NYC could be in for a cloudy, wet week.
Briefly

New Yorkers can expect a shift in weather as a low-pressure system approaches, bringing cloudy conditions and chances of showers through the end of the week, according to meteorologist James Tomasini. The most likely time for rain will be overnight Tuesday and continuing into Wednesday. There is also a risk of thunderstorms during Wednesday evening to Thursday morning. Temperatures are projected to remain mild, with highs around 70 degrees, but sunshine should return by Thursday and Friday, leading into a clear weekend.
Meteorologist James Tomasini with the National Weather Service said the high-pressure system that's been granting the region glorious, sunny and dry spring days is sliding east.
It looks like as of right now the most likely period for any showers would be overnight Tuesday and through the day Wednesday.
Tomasini added that there's a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.
The sun is expected to return Thursday and Friday, when it will likely poke through the clouds before skies clear Saturday and remain clear through Sunday.
