Kacper Dudek, a 20-year-old from Lifford, Co Donegal, died when a tree fell on his car as he returned home from work ahead of Storm Éowyn's red warning. Employed at Zeus Industrial Products since May 2024, Dudek had been let out early from his night shift. His funeral was attended by family, friends, and colleagues, in both Polish and English, reflecting his Polish roots and life in Ireland. Items in his memorial reflected his passions, such as sport and family, portraying a young man cherished by those around him.
Fr Ignacy Saniuta told the congregation Mr Dudek was a young man full of joy, passion and love for others. "Kacper was a loving son, brother, boyfriend and friend who knew how to show love, kindness and warmth to those he cared."
At the beginning of the mass, a number of items symbolising his life were placed in front of the altar, including a football jersey and a beloved dog plush.
