In a separate act of violence Monday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy was stabbed on board a southbound M train at the Court Square-23rd Street station, authorities said. The teen was involved in a dispute with a man believed to be in his 20s, who suddenly knifed him in the stomach around 12:30 p.m., according to cops. The boy was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The male suspect cut the victim on the arm before taking off on an incoming train, authorities said. He is described as having a medium complexion, standing around 5 feet 9 and wearing a black hat, beige shirt and green jacket.
The 28-year-old victim was standing on the southbound M train platform at 42nd Street-Bryant Park around 9 a.m. when a scuffle with another straphanger turned violent, police said. It was not immediately known what sparked the morning transit tussle.
The suspect, wearing all black, took off after the attack and no arrests have been made. The circumstances leading to that clash are also unknown.
