Specialist sniffer dogs flown in for Jay Slater search on Tenerife
Briefly

Guardia Civil officers use a dog to search for Jay Slater in the Masca ravine, on the island of Tenerife (REUTERS). Specialist Canine Guides from Madrid were dispatched to assist in the search. Jay was last located near Mirador La Cruz de Hilda cafe in the wrong direction from where an eyewitness directed him.
A potential sighting in Santiago de Tiete is under investigation. A grainy image of a young man crossing the road in the town was shared but his face is indistinguishable. Locals express disbelief at his journey across the mountainous region.
Jay Slater, 19, disappeared after attending a music festival in Tenerife. He informed a friend he was lost and injured. Despite ongoing searches, confusion lingers over his route through the challenging terrain.
There is a continuous search in the mountainous area near Masca, a spot popular with hikers. Jay was reported to have travelled to a remote AirBnb with two British men after the music festival, located an 11-hour hike away.
