The state agreed to pay $295,000 to settle a sexual harassment complaint against Gov. Josh Shapiro's head of legislative affairs, Michael A. Vereb, who made repeated and graphic sexual overtures to an employee.
Mr. Shapiro faced scrutiny for keeping Mr. Vereb in his position for six months after the misconduct allegations and only requesting his resignation after the complaint was made public.
