Senior shot dead with stray bullet in Harlem; friend helplessly watched her die | amNewYork
Briefly

A daylight shooting on Aug. 27, 2025, at about 12:25 p.m. on 110th Street and Madison Avenue left 69-year-old Robin Wright fatally struck in the face by a stray bullet while she used a walker. A group of men opened fire and Wright was not the intended target. Police established a perimeter from Madison to Park Avenue and marked approximately 16 shell casings on Park Avenue. A walker stood beside dried blood on Madison Avenue. A friend, Juanita Arnold, said they had been walking to get lunch and that she watched Wright die. Local residents were emotional.
I had to look around and make sure I was alright. And I looked at my friend, I said: Are you alright. Did you get shot?' She said: Yeah,' Arnold recalled.
That was the last thing she said to me. I watched my friend die, Arnold added.
