Bandar Alharbi faced charges of rape, assault, stalking, and endangering the welfare of a child after abusing his wife, an ambassador from Bahrain, starting from their honeymoon in 2017.
Alharbi would threaten and physically harm his wife, including headbutting her, beating her with a garbage can, and forcing her to have sex, showing signs of sexual arousal after the violent episodes.
At his arraignment, it was revealed that Alharbi would describe violent ways of killing his wife, inflict physical harm like giving her black eyes, and threaten her family with harm.
The abuse escalated to a point where Alharbi punched his wife's head to 'balance' the pain and even threatened to send a picture of slitting her throat, indicating severe psychological and physical abuse.
