The pursuit began after New York City officers attempted to stop a driver in the Jamaica neighborhood in Queens. The driver attempted to ram the police, striking two officers before fleeing.
During the chase, the driver hit multiple police cars and forced officers to dive out of the way before his vehicle ultimately lost control and came to a stop in Massapequa.
Officers tried to persuade the driver to exit the vehicle, but he refused to cooperate, resulting in the driver being shot by police.
Nassau County police commissioner Patrick Ryder labeled the driver as reckless, describing how his vehicle was 'flying,' causing chaos on the road.
