NYPD releases video of would-be rapist chased off by female good Samaritan: 'I just ran after him'

On Friday morning in East Elmhurst, a 32-year-old woman was attacked in an attempted rape. The assailant approached her from behind, threatened her, and attempted to undress her. Fortunately, a nearby resident witnessed the attack and shouted at the attacker, causing him to flee. The victim was hospitalized but reported as stable. Police have released surveillance footage of the suspect and are seeking public assistance in locating him.
