"We entered the location screaming 'Police search warrant!' after the door was rammed in and continued screaming 'Police search warrant!'" Libretti said, emphasizing their clear identification during the raid.
"I almost died... The sentence isn't enough," Libretti expressed, highlighting the disparity between his life-threatening experience and the leniency of the plea deal given to Nelson.
"Once Nelson saw me, he slammed the door and began to shoot, hitting me in the chest [and] shoulder area," Libretti recounted, detailing the attack's suddenness and severity.
"Nelson, who was charged with multiple counts of attempted murder of a police officer, agreed to plead guilty to a charge of second-degree attempted murder..." the union explained, outlining the legal proceedings.
