Xiaofeng Wang, a 26-year-old man from Oakland Gardens, New York, has been arrested on charges of human trafficking and prostitution following a police investigation in Brighton. The investigation began when authorities received reports of suspected commercial sex activity at 55 Brighton Ave., leading detectives to pose as clients. Upon arriving at the location, they arrested Wang and discovered evidence of prostitution in two apartments, including three women and over $7,000 in cash. Wang has pleaded not guilty and is currently free on bail.
Officers identified two apartments within 55 Brighton Avenue that were being used for prostitution. They discovered one female in the first apartment, and two in the second.
Detectives posed as buyers through the advertised phone number and negotiated an agreement for sexual services, leading to Wang's arrest.
