Acting US Attorney Carolyn Pokorny stated that Saenz's guilty plea reflects the senseless gang violence that plagues parts of Long Island, calling his crimes 'barbaric'.
Mickens' mother, Elizabeth Alvarado, expressed her grief, stating that Saenz's actions led to her losing her daughter forever, lamenting the pain he caused.
