New York City will shut down a tent facility for migrants on Randalls Island that has been assailed by members of the City Council and immigrant rights activists since it opened on Oct. 19, according to a statement released by the city on Thursday night.The closure of the facility, scheduled for next week, represents yet another shift in Mayor Eric Adams's efforts to cope with the unexpected arrival of more than 23,000 migrants in recent months, many of whom were bused into New York from Texas.
