"On the surface it's a massive physical challenge... and an emotional one for me as well," Mr. Akhtar said, reflecting on the complexity of his undertaking.
"We were growing up together and sharing a room. It's like a sleepover for five years with your best pal," Mr. Akhtar reminisces about their close friendship at Harrow School.
Mr. Akhtar described Mr. Lloyd as an "incredible cricketer" and keen sportsman, which motivated Mr. Lloyd's family to establish a charity in his honor.
"I'm ecstatic! It adds a kind of pressure as well... gives you that kick," Mr. Akhtar expressed about exceeding his fundraising target for teamArchie.
