Man struck and killed by van driving in reverse in Dyker Heights hit-and-run
A 37-year-old man was killed in Dyker Heights, New York, after being struck by a van driving in reverse. The incident occurred just before 8 p.m. Monday at 90 Street and Parrott Place, where the man was moving construction debris out of the road. He was briefly trapped between the van and the debris before falling onto the road and suffering severe body trauma. Emergency responders found him on the roadway and paramedics transported him to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he died. The van left the scene, heading southbound on Parrott Place, and later struck a parked, unoccupied Toyota Camry. Baber Choudhary, 48, was arrested the following day and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
