A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after repeatedly running over someone in a Bay Area mall parking lot, police said.
The suspect, Vakautakava Tangitau, 25, was taken into custody without incident. He is known to officers due to previous mental health calls.
When police arrived, they discovered a dead man who had been run over multiple times while walking across the lot, police said.
It's unclear why Tangitau allegedly ran over the man or if they knew each other, with the deceased’s identity being withheld pending family notification.
