Man extradited from El Salvador for murder charge 20 years after wife's death in Toronto | CBC News
Briefly

The extradited Juan Antonio Avalos has been charged with second-degree murder for the 2004 death of his wife, Rosaura Tolentino Ramos, after fleeing to El Salvador.
Toronto police reported that the charge against Avalos originated from the night of August 31, 2004, when they discovered his late wife, Rosaura, in an apartment with stab wounds.
After fleeing Canada immediately following the murder, Avalos was located in El Salvador, prompting an extradition hearing by the Salvadoran government earlier this year.
With the extradition completion, Avalos, now 63, has been returned to Canada to face the second-degree murder charge nearly 20 years after the tragic event.
