A Lewisham police officer, PC Randeep Phull, was involved in a drunken street brawl where tasers were drawn at him and his brother. The misconduct hearing found that Phull had spent hours drinking before the incident.
Although Phull tried to calm the situation initially, he eventually lashed out at his brother who had swung at him. The panel determined that the violence was not intense or directed and due to both being drunk, none of the blows connected.
The misconduct panel noted that PC Phull was remorseful and concluded that his actions did not warrant dismissal from the force. As Phull had already left the Met Police, no further outcome was required.
