'I hope to God it's him' - niece cautiously optimistic that remains of IRA victim Joe Lynskey have finally been found after 52 years

Maria Lynskey expressed her cautious optimism, stating, "I've been disappointed before, so I'm hoping I'm not disappointed again," reflecting the emotional struggle families face in seeking closure.

Jon Hill, lead investigator for ICLVR, elaborated, "Several sets of human remains had been recovered from the grave and DNA analysis was now being carried out to confirm the identities."

The ICLVR indicated that the location of the exhumation aligns with the 1972 disappearance of Joe Lynskey, marking a potentially significant step in uncovering the truth.

Despite the new developments, Maria Lynskey voiced her anxiety, noting, "These are long journeys for us, for all the families of the Disappeared that hope to find closure."
