"This defendant's alleged activity went beyond legal and peaceful protest. Committing arson in a crowded protest endangers the safety of others, and this type of behavior will not be tolerated," said District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Courts records show that Carlson is accused of burning an Israeli flag at a protest after snatching it from a Jewish man before being interrupted by a witness.
