The accusation states that Thompson began punching the victim repeatedly and shouted anti-gay slurs. A bystander intervened and stopped the beating, and the victim was taken to a hospital. Police reportedly identified Thompson as the main suspect after he was arrested earlier this year for a separate crime. The victim had been taking photos, and Thompson allegedly demanded deletion of a photo before attacking. Thompson faces two third-degree assault charges and one aggravated harassment charge.
