"It was an audacious plan to murder a man in plain sight and you very nearly succeeded in your objective," said Judge Mrs. Justice Lambert during sentencing.
"The fake vaccination caused intense pain, making it seem as though my arm was on fire, and I felt I should have died," testified Patrick O'Hara.
Kwan was motivated by greed after discovering that his mother’s will allowed his mother’s partner to live in her home, prompting a calculated murder attempt.
"The motive for this attempt to kill was to remove an impediment to his inheritance," said prosecutor Peter Makepeace KC, illustrating Kwan's malicious intent.
