Founder of Astronomy Ireland accused of 'pocketing' money in employments rights case

The Workplace Relations Commission is hearing claims from Sonya Martin against David Moore and the Astronomy Ireland management for constructive dismissal and rights breaches. Martin alleges workplace stress and claims she had to resign after learning that Astronomy Ireland lacked a board, which contradicted her grant applications. She also reported potential financial misconduct, stating Mr. Moore pocketed fees intended for the organization. In response, Moore disputes these claims, insisting all funds were accounted for and asserts that they have been libelled.

David was taking the money and pocketing it as his own income, as opposed to it going back into the society.

Mr Moore stated there was 'no money going astray' and 'no financial irregularities', asserting they had been libelled.
