A retired NYPD detective fatally shot his wife, Arlene O'Neill, following a dispute, before taking his own life, with their three children present.
Sean O'Neill, 54, fired multiple shots at his wife Arlene, a fifth-grade teacher, before committing suicide; emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
The couple's three children were home during the tragic incident but, fortunately, were physically unharmed and are currently in the custody of family members.
Arlene O'Neill, a dedicated teacher at Anne Hutchinson school, was remembered by the school superintendent as the community mourned the devastating loss.
